The US is seeking backfill from Europe as it seeks to leave parts of Syria and establish the safe zone.
Syria envoy, Ambassador Jim Jeffrey thinks it might happen.
Ahval: ‘There’s something pending to look forward to. Very pending,’ Jeffrey said, falling short of revealing the names of countries, which he said would make their own announcements.
Wladimir Van Wilgenburg tweets: “US ask allies to contribute to security in northeast Syria. Not only they requested this from the Netherlands, also UK, Canada, Germany and Italy.”
It comes amid questions about how strong ISIS still is. Can it seize an urban center. Jeffrey was non-plussed perhaps, but Jennifer Cafarella is warning about ISIS strength. It led to an exchange between Cafarella and Joshua Landis on Twitter.
