An article at the Brisbane Times looks at one Yazidi woman in Australia. The article notes “Nihad was determined that Australia would be her final home, having fled her native Iraq, where she was kidnapped and sold into sexual slavery by Islamic State fighters when she was just 15 years old….When visited at her home in Queensland’s Toowoomba last weekend, Nihad spoke, without a translator, glowingly of her new country.”
Australia has helped Yazidi victims and resettled some who wanted to move to a new country.
