“30 children of Islamic State (IS) members flew to Russia on Sunday, Russia’s Ambassador to Iraq said,” according to a report. They are just some of the children of the 50,000 ISIS volunteers who came from all over the world. Some came from southern Russia.
The report notes “Earlier in December, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Moscow would continue to bring home children of Russian citizens who joined the extremist group in Iraq and Syria, noting that Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov would take the lead role on that matter….According to the Chechen leader, the plane was carrying 24 children from Dagestan, three from Chechnya, and the other three from Moscow and Penza.”
The tragedy of the children is one legacy of the ISIS war, the women journeyed all the way to Syria and Iraq to persecute people in those countries. Their husbands often died in battle. But the innocent children are now left in limbo.
