Trump and Erdogan speak about more “effective coordination” in Syria


US President Donald Trump spoke to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday and Trump Turkey to call off its threatened operation in eastern Syria. Turkey said they “agree ‘more effective’ coordination on Syria: Turkey presidential sources.”

Not all the details of the conversation were clear. For instance Reuters wrote “The two leaders agreed on the need for more efficient cooperation over Syria, without giving details,” while the AP wrote about more “effective” cooperation.

The Presidents agreed to coordinate their “respective security objectives.”
