Screen Shot 2018-12-11 at 12.08.55 PM.pngThe US-led Coalition says that ISIS has used a hospital as an outpost in Hajin. “ISIS has no regard for human life. As we close in on them, they are getting more and more desperate and are hiding behind the safety of mosques, hospitals, and other protected sites.” – Maj. Gen. Patrick Roberson, Commanding General.

Wladimir Van Wilgenburg notes that the Coalition added details. “Coalition: “ISIS forces used Hajin Hospital as a platform to engage CJTF-OIR partner forces on Dec. 9. By these actions, ISIS caused hospital to lose its protected status afforded by the Law of Armed Conflict by using facility otherwise protected under the Geneva Convention… “Hiding is futile and we will continue to work with our partner forces to find ISIS and ensure their lasting defeat.” CJTF-OIR works by, with & through partner forces to defeat ISIS in designated areas of Iraq & Syria.”

He authored an article on the hospital and Hajin battle.
